Privacy policy
- We only collect what we need to deliver your order, help you and run the community.
- We never sell your details, and we don’t send you marketing unless you ask for it.
- Your card details go straight to our payment partner. We never see them.
- You can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted.
Who is responsible
DebzGaming is responsible for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our information officer is the owner, who you can reach at info@debzgaming.co.za.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, mobile number, delivery address, what you bought and what you paid.
- When you pay: Yoco (or PayFast) handles your card or bank details. We only receive confirmation that you paid and a payment reference.
- When you join the community: your username, email, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and what you post. Your email is never shown to anyone.
- When you contact us or send us a form: the details you give us.
- Automatically: your IP address and browser details in our server logs, used to keep the site secure and stop spam.
Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your order, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
- To keep accounting and tax records, as the law requires.
- To run the community, keep it friendly and stop spam.
- To answer you when you get in touch.
We only send you marketing if you’ve asked for it, and you can stop it at any time.
Who we share it with
Only what each of them needs to do their part:
- The courier: your name, phone number and delivery address.
- Our payment partner (Yoco, or PayFast when you choose it).
- Our supplier or the manufacturer, when you make a warranty claim.
- The companies that host our website and email, who store data for us.
- The authorities, but only if the law requires it.
We never sell or rent your details. If any of these companies store information outside South Africa, it has to be protected to the standard POPIA requires.
Cookies and your browser
- Your cart and saved PC builds are kept in your own browser, not on our server.
- If you sign in to the community, a cookie keeps you signed in.
- We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads. Discord links take you to Discord, which has its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices: 5 years, because tax law requires it.
- Community accounts: until you ask us to delete yours.
- Server logs and spam-protection records: only as long as we need them for security.
Keeping it safe
Every page uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored scrambled, our admin is password-protected and locks out repeated wrong guesses, and only people who need your information can see it.
Your rights
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it or delete it.
- Object to us using it, for example for marketing.
- Complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) if you’re not happy with how we handled it.
Email info@debzgaming.co.za and we’ll respond as soon as we can, and within 30 days.
Under 18?
A parent or guardian needs to agree before you join the community or place an order.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page.
